ZiaDerm Research is conducting a clinical research study for children with moderate to severe acne. The study is evaluating the safety and treatment effect of CABTREO™ topical gel when used once daily.
CABTREO™ contains clindamycin phosphate 1.2%, benzoyl peroxide 3.1%, and adapalene 0.15%. While CABTREO™ is FDA-approved for people age 12 and older, its use in this study is investigational for children under age 12.
Who May Be Considered for Screening?
- Children ages 9 through 11 years, 11 months
- Have moderate to severe acne vulgaris
- A parent or legal guardian must provide permission for participation
Study staff will review screening information to determine whether a child may qualify. Completing a screening form does not guarantee eligibility or enrollment.
What Does the Study Involve?
- Applying the study gel to the face once daily for 12 weeks
- Participation lasting approximately 17 weeks (up to 119 days)
- Attending 6 study visits at ZiaDerm Research
- Acne and skin evaluations
- Health assessments, including blood and urine testing when applicable
- Completing a study diary and questionnaires
Some participants may be invited to take part in an optional sub-study involving additional blood samples and two additional clinic visits.
Study-Related Costs and Compensation
- Study drug, study visits, and study-related procedures are provided at no cost
- No insurance is required
- Participants receive $100 for each completed study visit , provided all scheduled procedures for that visit are completed
