Director of Clinical Research

Mariana Carvalho is dedicated to bridging the gap between medical professionals and the clinical research industry. With a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from NYU and extensive experience in the field, Mariana has a proven track record of helping clinical research sites navigate the complexities of clinical trials, from site development to regulatory compliance.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mariana is also an avid marathoner, often seen training for her next race in the early morning hours. When she’s not on the track, you might find her perfecting her latte art as a passionate barista enthusiast or spending time with her beloved 6-year-old English Bulldog, Blossom. Her diverse interests and dedication to both her personal and professional life make her a dynamic and approachable leader in the field of clinical research.

Kristyn Cullen

PA-C Sub-Investigator

Kristyn Cullen, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant specializing in the practice of Dermatology. She has completed the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants Diplomate Fellowship Program and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Kristyn Cullen, PA-C attended the University of Connecticut Honors Program graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. She went on to earn her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, receiving highest honors.

Kristyn Cullen is originally from North Haven, Connecticut. She now makes Miami her home. She is pleased to be serving the South Florida community by helping to establish and meet individual skincare needs. Her other interests include golf, tennis, skiing and traveling.

Clinical Research Coordinator

Daine Velazco is committed to maintaining the highest standards in clinical research, ensuring that each trial is conducted with precision and adherence to protocol. With two years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator, Daine has successfully managed multiple trials, drawing from her deep understanding of quality control. Originally from Cuba and now based in Miami, she is fluent in both Spanish and English, which allows her to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.

Outside of her professional life, Daine is a culinary explorer, passionate about discovering new cultures through their cuisine. You’ll often find her at different restaurants, savoring dishes from around the world. Her love for food and dedication to excellence in her field make her a well-rounded and engaging professional in the world of clinical research.

Office Manager

Etty Itzkowitz has enjoyed working with Dr. Sullivan’s office for the last 25 years, where she has been involved in a wide range of responsibilities. From warmly greeting patients as they arrive to assisting them in securing approval for their essential medications, her role has been centered around providing compassionate and comprehensive support to ensure the best possible care for our patients.  Currently, she serves as the office manager, overseeing daily operations and ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care and support.

Tory Sullivan

MD Principal Investigator

Dr. Sullivan is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. Trained in diagnosing and treating conditions of the skin, hair and nails, he is also an expert in performing advanced therapies meant to improve their health and appearance.

Dr. Sullivan attended Georgetown University as an undergraduate and received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School. He then moved to Miami to complete his residency in Dermatology at the University of Miami, where he continues to be an active part of the South Florida dermatologic community. Dr. Sullivan is a voluntary assistant professor at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. As a primary investigator for clinical research, he has completed more than 40 clinical trials testing new dermatology medicines and cosmetic treatments for FDA approval. In addition to publishing his findings widely, Dr. Sullivan travels the country to lecture on new advancements in the treatment of skin conditions.

Originally from New Mexico, he has lived in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale for over 20 years. When he is not in the office, Dr. Sullivan enjoys spending time with his partner and two young daughters.

Randi Loomis

ARNP Sub-Investigator

Randi Loomis is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with a focus on clinical research and a strong passion for dermatology. Her dedication to advancing patient care and her pursuit of excellence in both research and practice drives her efforts to improve dermatological treatments and patient outcomes.

Randi’s journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2010, where she first discovered her passion for research. She furthered her expertise by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from New York University. In 2019, Randi took on a key role as a clinical research nurse coordinator, specializing in Parkinson’s Disease. Randi recently completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Florida Atlantic University in May 2024 and is on track to finish her Doctor of Nursing Practice in December 2024. 

Though she now calls South Florida home, Randi grew up in North Carolina and will always be a Southern girl at heart. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys beach outings with her cherished English Cream dachshund, Major, hot yoga classes, and time spent with friends.

Katelyn Louis, is a highly skilled Clinical Research Coordinator with a strong academic and practical background in scientific research. She holds a Master’s Degree in Science from the University of Central Florida, following her Bachelor’s in Science from the University of South Florida. Katelyn’s academic journey has equipped her with a deep understanding of research methodologies and a commitment to advancing medical science. As a native of South Florida, Katelyn is passionate about contributing to her community by playing a crucial role in the coordination of clinical trials. Her attention to detail and dedication to upholding the highest standards of research integrity ensure that each study she manages is conducted with precision and ethical rigor. 

Outside of her professional life, Katelyn enjoys exploring new destinations and cherishes quality time with her loved ones. Her enthusiasm for discovery, whether in her work or personal life, drives her to continually seek growth and excellence in all that she does.
